Building Connection Seminar (May 30)

A psycho-educational seminar targeting the impact of Intimacy Anorexia (IA) on a marriage where one or both partners is operating out of this paradigm of emotional disconnect.

The session will focus on accessing, understanding, and overcoming intimacy anorexia, originally delineated and described by renowned expert, Dr. Doug Weiss. In 2006, Weiss appeared on Dr. Dave’s Marriage Uncensored TV Talk Show, where he laid out in detail for the first time in Canada this emotional connection gap that IAs possess and its effect on marriage.

The seminar will include a presentation, group discussion, Q & A, and some new practical tools for couples to keep working against IA together.

Dr. Dave Currie is the founder, director, and senior therapist at the Doing Family Right Care Centre. He is one of 2 Registered Intimacy Anorexia Therapists in Canada with the American Association of Sexual Addiction Therapy (AASAT). Dr. Dave is also a Sexual Recovery Therapist (SRT) and a Partner Recovery Therapist (PRT) with AASAT. He has the dubious honour of being the most trained counsellor under Dr. Weiss’ mentorship.
